To start the school year off the Michigan way we are hosting a euchre tournament during lunch! It will be a continuous thing throughout the year. With the new implemented 40 minute lunch students usually socialize with their friends. However, this card game gives students an opportunity to break the routine and build a sense of community among classmates. Not only does this bring a fun and competitive environment to the school day, but it also encourages teamwork and social interaction. As the cards shuffle and the trump is declared, the Euchre tournament will become a highlight of the school year having a great start of the year with excitement and unity.<\/span><\/p>\n How to play<\/span><\/p>\n Euchre is played with four people, two on each team. The cards are dealt however the dealer wants as long as they end up with five cards. Then the dealer flips the top card over so the suit is shown and the game begins<\/span><\/p>\n , first to 10 wins. The left of the dealer begins the game if they have a good hand they would determine if they would like to pick the card up. Depending on the suit a Jack can be a trump or a regular card. We would call those trump jacks ‘Bowers’, which could win the play automatically.<\/span><\/p>\n You can also go \u201calone\u201d which entails you calling trump for the flipped card and believing you can win all 5 hands which can earn you and your teammate 4 points.
